#6004X New Zealand Ferns Bound album of pressed ferns mounted by Eric Craig, Auckland, c 1890's folio, 31.5 x 26 cm; bound in leather; 30 specimens mounted on individual pages, each with accompanying label bearing Latin name. Eric Craig was a purveyor of tribal artefacts, curios and natural history specimens who was renowned for his albums of pressed ferns. He operated a business in Princes Street, Auckland. The majority of the ferns on these pages are intact; portions of a few examples have been loosened from their page but are still present; flyleaf detached; foxing throughout, which is to be expected with this type of material.
